Walks of Ballydehob and Schull

Ballydehob and Schull are charming in themselves, and surrounded by rugged and dramatic scenery. The walks in this booklet are modest outings, taking us into the countryside, to the hills and to the sea. They introduce us to magnificent views of the islands of Roaringwater Bay, to the natural history of the wayside plants, birds, and animals and to Neolithic mines, ancient churches, castles, and a Famine hospital.

Damien Enright is author of A Place Near Heaven: A Year in West Cork and writer/presenter of RTE TV's Enright's Way series on environment and heritage. He lives in West Cork and intimately knows the coastline and wildlife of which he writes. Since 1990, he has written a weekly outdoor column in The Irish Examiner.
